About the role

Our Mine Geology team is seeking a Technician Mine Geology to join us on an 8 days on, 6 days off dayshift-only roster at the Roy Hill Mine. Reporting to the Supervisor Mine Geology, you will play a key role in supporting daily ore control activities through the collection, preparation, and recording of geological data that underpins safe and efficient mining operations.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term opportunity with the potential for extension, offering the chance to gain valuable experience at one of Australia’s most technologically advanced mining operations while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.

Duties

  • Collect, prepare, and record blast cone, pit, and stockpile samples and associated geological data
  • Conduct ore spotting and material redirection activities within the pit
  • Perform ore control monitoring and support day-to-day mine geology operations
  • Accurately record, manage, and enter geological and production data
  • Assist Mine Geologists in maintaining mining hygiene and ore control standards

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience in a similar geology technician, field technician, or mining support role will be highly regarded
  • Exposure to remote site environments and mining operations is preferred
  • Current manual C-Class Driver’s Licence
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • A genuine passion for mining and an interest in working within a technologically advanced operation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing operational demands
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
