About the role
Hancock Iron Ore is seeking a Supervisor for Processing Services to join them at the Processing Plant at Roy Hill mine, this role is a 8 days on, 6 days off Roster days shift only.
The supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing ramp down and ramp up activities within processing operations and contractor management aligned to these activities and the daily plant activities. This includes ensuring that transitions during planned shutdowns, startups, and operational changes are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
The Processing Services Supervisor role at Roy Hill mine involves detailed planning and management of scheduled shutdowns and startups in processing operations. The position emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and effective communication with all stakeholders. Coordination with maintenance, engineering, and contractors is essential. Candidates are expected to have significant experience in fixed plant processing and shutdowns, technical and planning capabilities, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in relevant software tools, with a preference for those holding or willing to obtain Schedule 26 certification.
Key Technical Responsibilities:
- Creating, implementing, and coordinating ramp down and ramp up schedules aligned with production, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
- Communicating operational changes to stakeholders and workgroups.
- Maintaining safety, environmental, and quality controls during transitions.
- Monitoring and reporting progress against ramp down and ramp up milestones.
- Facilitating update and progress meetings related to shutdown readiness.
- Coordinating with maintenance, engineering, and operations to resolve issues during ramp activities.
- Managing contractors involved in ramp down activities and day to day operations
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience in fixed plant processing roles and shutdowns.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent trade and operational experience.
- Strong technical operations and planning skills, including project plan formulation and execution.
- Ability to lead structured problem solving, navigate ambiguity, and support decision-making.
- Effective communication skills across verbal, written, and electronic formats, with an ability to present and influence.
- A safety-critical risk improvement mindset.
- Experience with SAP or similar Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Schedule 26 certification or willingness to obtain.
