About the role:
The Asset Management team is currently seeking a Lead Asset Management to join the team on a Monday–Friday roster based in the Perth office.
Reporting to the Principal Asset Management Systems, you will lead the team that maintains Hancock Iron Ore’s SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) master data and provides training on our SAP and work management processes to maintenance stakeholders across the business. Through your leadership and expertise, you will enable and support the team to maintain high‑quality systems and practices that support safe, reliable and cost‑effective operations while meeting our compliance obligations.
This role plays a key part in supporting HIO’s Asset Management System, ensuring asset management practices and requirements are aligned and consistently applied across the business.
Duties:
- Lead the Maintenance System Planning function, a team of Maintenance System Planners and trainers (and/or 3rd party providers), to support safe, reliable and cost‑effective operations.
- Provide governance, oversight and stewardship of HIO’s Asset Management System, ensuring consistent asset management practices and high‑quality SAP PM master data across the business
- Maintain and improve standards, procedures and work instructions related to Asset Management System processes, ensuring they are clear, current and accessible to stakeholders.
- Act as a subject matter expert for asset management practices, SAP PM and associated systems, providing guidance, training and support to users across the organisation.
- Monitor system performance, outputs, quality and compliance, using tools, KPIs and reporting routines to identify issues and drive optimisation opportunities.
- Work closely with IT, internal stakeholders and vendors to manage system changes, upgrades, integrations and maintenance activities, and lead or support improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership, mentorship and influential support across Asset Management, collaborating with senior leaders and staying up to date with industry best practice to drive continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Maintenance or Asset Management is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
- Extensive background in Asset Management or Engineering, with a proven track record in complex operational environments
- Demonstrated leadership experience in Asset Management with the ability to influence, guide and develop teams
- Solid understanding of Asset Management principles, Work Management processes and Master Data governance
- Experience in Maintenance Cost Budgeting tools and processes will be highly regarded
