About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Superintendent Planning – Rail to join our Asset Management team in Perth. Reporting to the Manager Asset Management – Rail, this key leadership role will oversee a team of planners and schedulers responsible for refining and implementing fit-for-purpose asset and maintenance strategies across Rail plant and equipment. You will drive maintenance strategy improvement and the shutdown readiness, aligning people, processes, systems and equipment with our work management and shutdown management frameworks to improve asset availability, support operational performance and achieve business targets within agreed cost and performance targets.

Duties

• Display and promote Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) by active field based leadership and presence.
• Understand and actively promote the Roy Hill HSE Performance and Management Standards, risk management processes, and a Safe System of Work.
• Develop and continuously improve fit-for-purpose planning processes, systems and procedures aligned with the Work Management framework
• Lead the optimisation of shutdown plans and rail maintenance strategies to improve safe and effective execution, improve reliability, availability, maintainability and safety performance
• Lead development and refining of accurate work scopes for planned maintenance activities ensuring that estimates for labour, skills, materials, equipment and external services are included
• Conduct Work Management and Asset Management audits and post-shutdown reviews, providing performance insights and improvement recommendations to maintenance leadership
• Lead, coach and develop the team while driving cost reduction, productivity improvements and fit-for-purpose business outcomes through the planning and work management processes

Skills and experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or a related technical discipline, or a recognised trade qualification, supported by demonstrated maintenance planning experience within the mining or heavy industry sector
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing maintenance planning, shutdown or asset management teams
• Proven experience leading maintenance strategy development and improvement programs, including the application of FMEA, PMO, RCM and RCA methodologies
• Strong working knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance, including technical objects, maintenance plans, task lists, bills of materials and measuring points
• Experience in apply work management and ISO55000 asset management principles
• Experience developing Asset Management Plans, life-cycle cost models, maintenance budgets and capital and operating forecasts
• Experience building effective working relationships and negotiating maintenance requirements across operations, maintenance, engineering, supply, contractors and other key stakeholders
