About the role

An opportunity exists for a Superintendent Hosting to join the Technology Operations team in Perth.

Reporting to the Manager Hybrid Cloud, you will be responsible for the delivery, operation and continual improvement of Hancock Iron Ore’s (HIO) on-premises and cloud-hosted infrastructure. Leading a high-performing team, you will be accountable for ensuring our critical hosting services are reliable, secure, efficient and aligned with business, operational and technology requirements. This influential leadership role will oversee service delivery, operational governance, vendor performance, financial management and infrastructure lifecycle planning, while championing automation, AI-enabled capabilities and modern operational practices to deliver stronger service reliability and business outcomes.

 

Duties

  • Lead the delivery and operational performance of on-premises and cloud-hosted infrastructure services
  • Develop and execute hosting platform roadmaps, lifecycle plans and capacity strategies
  • Oversee the availability, reliability, security and performance of hosting infrastructure
  • Lead major incident, problem, change, disaster recovery and service continuity activities
  • Manage operational budgets, vendors and service providers to optimise performance, value and contractual compliance
  • Drive platform modernisation, automation, AI-enabled capabilities and operational standardisation
  • Partner with Technology and business stakeholders to reduce technical debt and deliver sustainable service improvements

 

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams responsible for enterprise hosting, infrastructure or platform services
  • Proven experience managing critical cloud and hybrid hosting environments
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, VMware and enterprise storage
  • Extensive IT Service Management experience across major incidents, problems, change, release and service continuity management
  • Experience managing infrastructure lifecycles, platform roadmaps, capacity planning and modernisation initiatives
  • Proven experience managing technology vendors, operational budgets, service performance, cybersecurity controls and vulnerability remediation
  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant industry certifications, with exposure to mining, operational technology, automation and Infrastructure as Code environments will be beneficial
