About the role

Our Risk and Compliance team is seeking a Senior Advisor Risk and Assurance to join us in Perth. Reporting to the Manager Risk and Assurance, you will play a key role in strengthening our enterprise risk management framework across Hancock Iron Ore.

This role provides the opportunity to influence decision-making at every level of the organisation. You will be central to developing, maintaining and verifying high‑quality risk and control information, ensuring our leaders are equipped with accurate insights for confident strategic and operational decisions.

You will also help uplift organisational capability by delivering targeted coaching and training, while supporting governance, audit and assurance activities. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, meaningful responsibility, and the chance to interface with senior leaders and operational teams alike.

 

Duties

  • Facilitate risk workshops, reviews and assessments aligned to the Risk Management Plan or business requirements
  • Support governance committee activities, including coordination, data preparation and reporting
  • Conduct regular site visits and build strong relationships with site-based leaders and teams
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, policies, procedures and governance processes
  • Partner with stakeholders across Roy Hill and the broader Hancock group to drive consistent, high‑quality risk practices

 

Skills and experience

  • Degree qualifications in Commerce, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience in a risk-focused role
  • Experience in Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery or Crisis Management
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks, methodologies and tools
  • Strong facilitation skills, particularly in conducting workshops
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and engagement ability, with a natural capacity to build trust and credibility
