About the role

An opportunity exists for a Senior Advisor Mass Transport to join Hancock Iron Ore’s Facilities and Village Services team based at the Roy Hill mine. Working a FIFO 8/6; 4/3; 4/3 roster and reporting to the Superintendent Village Services, this role plays a key part in supporting the safe and efficient movement of personnel across site, including between the village, aerodrome, mine work areas and associated facilities.

The role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support operational continuity across Ginbata Aerodrome and site mass transport services. With a strong focus on safety, compliance and service performance, the Senior Advisor Mass Transport helps ensure transport operations are delivered effectively while protecting HIO’s licence to operate.

 

Duties

  • Oversee the safe, reliable and compliant delivery of aerodrome and bus transport services across HIO Villages
  • Coordinate daily mass transport operations across Ginbata Aerodrome and site bus services, ensuring services meet operational requirements
  • Monitor contractor performance, service delivery expectations and corrective actions for aerodrome and bus transport providers
  • Apply safety, risk management and compliance processes across transport activities, including incident reporting, journey management and route risk assessments
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including site leadership, airlines, fuel providers, CASA and other external authorities
  • Prepare operational reports and performance updates to identify improvement opportunities across mass transport services

 

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in operational coordination, contractor management or service delivery within a mining, resources, aviation, transport, logistics or remote site environment
  • Previous exposure to FIFO, remote operations or village services environments, with an understanding of workforce movement requirements
  • Working knowledge of safety, risk management and compliance processes, including incident reporting, safe systems of work and risk assessment
  • Experience coordinating multiple contractors, service providers and stakeholders in a dynamic operational environment
  • Experience preparing operational reports, tracking performance, monitoring service levels and following up corrective actions
  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence, with aerodrome operations training or an Aerodrome Reporting Officer qualification highly regarded
