About the role
Our Mine Geology team is currently seeking a Technician Mine Geology to join them on an 8 days on 6 days off roster based at the Roy Hill mine. Reporting to the Supervisor Mine Geology you will be responsible for supporting the Mine Geology team by assisting in the collection and recording of geological data.
Duties
- Collect, prepare, and record blast cone, pit, and stockpile samples and data
- Provide ore spotting and material redirection duties in the pit
- Carry out general mine site ore control monitoring duties as required
- Accurately record and manage data and perform data entry
- Assist mine geologists with the supervision of mining hygiene practices
Skills and experience
- Previous experience working in a similar position will be advantageous
- Exposure to working in remote locations and within mining operations preferred
- Current manual C-class driver’s license
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- A demonstrated passion for mining and a desire to be involved in a technologically advanced project
- An ability and flexibility to adapt to conflicting demands and priorities
