About the role:

The Organisational Capability team is currently seeking an Advisor Training & Trades Development Support to join them on a 4/3 FIFO Roster between the Mine, Port Hedland and the Perth office. Reporting to the Lead Trades & Training, you will be responsible for to providing development and support to the apprentices/trainees aligned with their Line Leader.

 

The Advisor Training and Trades Development Support will assist with coordination, governance, and continuous improvement of the Hancock Iron Ore Apprenticeship Program. This includes supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of apprenticeship pathways, ensuring compliance with all legislative and organisational requirements.


Duties:

  • Assist with the delivery of tailored training programs for apprentices and trainees.
  • Schedule and conduct regular meetings and evaluations of apprentices' and trainees' progress.
  • Conduct regular audits of apprenticeship records, evidence, and compliance documentation.
  • Train apprentices in the use of “Ready Skills Program and “CERT Program” for tracking evidence.
  • Assist apprentices and trainees, and act as a point of contact regarding program requirements (block training etc), support their needs, and contract queries.
  • Facilitate workshops and hands-on training sessions to enhance skill development in Ready Skills Program.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors to identify training needs and opportunities for apprentices and trainees to ensure they are meeting their role requirement.
  • Assist in ensuring Line Leaders understand the compliance requirements of having a apprentice in the workplace.
  • Assist in the development of e-learning modules and online training resources for apprentices and trainees.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies in all training activities.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Trade qualification
  • Proven skills and knowledge in Training Governance Management Framework
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems
  • Previous experience with evidence tracking systems for apprentices
  • Sound understanding of the governance requirements for apprentices in the workplace
  • Sound skills in communication and planning of activities
  • High Risk Licence desirable (LF, WP, DG)
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the mining or similar heavy industry
