About the role:
The Health and Safety team are currently seeking an Advisor to join them on an 8 Days on, 6 Days off roster based at our Roy Hill Mine Site. Reporting to the Superintendent Health & Safety, you will be responsible for providing evidence-based advice to Roy Hill leadership across the mining, processing and non-processing areas of mine.
About you:
As a Health & Safety professional, you will enjoy creating foresight on the changing shape of risk and support the implementation of improvements in safety processes and practices which meet organisational and legislative requirements. You will be passionate about health and safety and committed to coaching the frontline workforce to better manage risk and prevent incidents. Leaning on your experience in the health and safety field and sound operational knowledge, you will drive work to completion, influence stakeholders and deliver work to a high standard.
Duties:
- Engage and coach supervisors and the frontline workforce in both physical and psychosocial risk reduction.
- Facilitate incident investigations, risk assessments and safety training - producing high quality results.
- Provide data-driven health & safety performance reports.
- Develop and mentor a team of Health and Safety Representatives
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience working in a Health and Safety role within the mining industry, with demonstrated experience in plant shutdowns preferable.
- Effective communication and engagement skills through leading, influencing and coaching.
- In depth understanding of risk management, including critical risk management and fatality prevention.
- Understanding of the contractor engagement processes and safety management.
- Demonstrated experience in the facilitation of incident investigations using the ICAM methodology.
- Demonstrated experience in audit execution and report writing.
- A tertiary qualification.
