About the role:

The Rail Operations team is currently seeking a qualified train driver to join them on 7 days on, 7 nights on, 14 days off roster based at Port Hedland. Reporting to a Supervisor Rail Operations, you will FIFO from Perth to Port Hedland on a 14_14 rotational roster basis and be responsible for operating trains across the Roy Hill Rail Network.

Duties: 

  • Operating of trains and rollingstock adhering to all Rail Safeworking and Operational Procedures.
  • Working trains between the Port Hedland Rail Yard and Roy Hill Mine site.
  • Shunting of rollingstock.
  • Provisioning of locomotives.
  • Positively communicating with train control on any faults or risks that may impact the scheduled journey.

 

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Proven experience as a Train Driver, with a Certificate IV in Train Driving (mandatory)
  • Able to pass a rail CAT 1 medical including physical assessments, national police clearance and ongoing drug and alcohol screens
  • Current valid C Class Driver’s License
  • A current First Aid certificate (HLTAID003) or willing to obtain one
