About the role:
The Technical Services team is currently seeking a Mine Engineer to join them on a 8/6 days only FIFO Roster based at the Sanjiv Ridge Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Engineering, you will be responsible for both the preparation and delivery of robust Daily and Weekly Mine Plans as well as Drill & Blast designs across multiple operations.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a small team of Mine Engineers that oversee the multiple Contract Mining sites based near Marble Bar in the Pilbara area.
Duties:
- Exercise a sufficient level of detail in developing the Daily, Weekly Plans and Short Term Plans (STP) as applicable, which utilise resources efficiently, identifies risk clearly and creates a clear path for a high standard of operational performance and success.
- Drive the development, implementation or improvement of technical systems.
- Drill and Blast Design and Review: All aspects of Drill and Blast design including, hole layouts, charging instructions, timing, vibration and post blast analysis.
- Reconciliation: Conduct reconciliation of daily performance of Drill and Blast, Load and Haul and Crushing to ensure alignment to Plan. This role is accountable for defining actions to recover variances to plan.
- Follow well defined short-term tasks and instructions, communicate updates and target achievement to direct manager.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years as a Mine Engineer
- Relevant academic qualification in Mine Engineering
- Demonstrated understanding of the mine planning cycles and activities
- Practical skills and knowledge in drill and blast design, pit optimisation and infrastructure design
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and external contractors
- Proactive approach with the ability to work without supervision and make independent decisions
- WA C class drivers licence or national equivalent
