We’re looking for a proactive and motivated FIFO HR Advisor who’s ready to learn, grow, and contribute to our People and Culture team, supporting our Port and Rail Operations in Port Hedland. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leaders and employees of all levels in a dynamic mining environment.
Supporting leaders and operational staff at Port and Rail this is a true HR generalist role — you’ll be involved in everything from day-to-day transactional tasks to supporting more complex people matters. Reporting to the Manager HR, you’ll provide practical advice, ensure compliance with legislation, and help leaders navigate challenges with confidence. You’ll be hands-on in delivering HR processes, managing employee movements, and resolving issues quickly and effectively. In this role, you’ll need to be ready to change direction when priorities shift and be comfortable balancing routine work with project-based initiatives. You will operate in a back-to-back arrangement with another HR Advisor, delivering timely, consistent, seamless and supportive advice to our Leaders, helping to build capability and confidence across all People matters.
About you
You enjoy variety in your work and are confident switching between administrative tasks, transactional submissions, people-facing activities, coaching leaders and problem-solving. You have experience in delivering People strategies across the full employee lifecycle and can confidently facilitate sessions on key people-related topics.
You have a reputation for building trust and fostering collaboration, as well as contributing to positive team environments. You’re comfortable working with leaders and employees at all levels, and you bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to HR.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable experience in a Human Resources role, ideally in mining or resources
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in performance management, employee relations, and HR processes
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with leaders and team members
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced site environment
- An understanding of employment legislation, with a desire to grow knowledge in IR/ER matters
- Confident using Microsoft Office, in particular Power BI and Excel and able to learn HR systems quickly
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Commerce, or working towards completion will be beneficial
