About the role:

The Asset Management team is currently seeking a Planner/Scheduler – Minor Plant to join on a Monday-Friday roster based at Perth with overnight weekly travel to Port Hedland. Reporting to the Superintendent Planning Rail, you will be responsible for ensuring a disciplined approach for the maintenance schedule is adhered to for the management of Minor Plant equipment. The objective of this position is to optimize equipment reliability and deliver a high level of maintenance efficiency through accurate planning and scheduling across varied Minor Plant assets which include various Rail Assets as well as LV’s, Forklifts, Bobcats and Loaders.


Duties:

  • Develop/Create/review functional location and equipment structures for assets
  • Conduct regular reviews with execution Supervisors to prioritise and process all maintenance notifications and work requests
  • Ensure all new work request are actioned with in a timely manner
  • Scheduling maintenance activities for all minor plant assets
  • Develop and implement maintenance tactics based on mitigating failure risk using RCM and FMECA techniques, OEM manuals and technical data
  • Develop and refine accurate work scopes for planned maintenance activities ensuring that estimates for labour, skills, materials, equipment and external services are included.
  • Build and foster relationships with external vendors
  • Requesting and processing quotes, PR's from/for Vendors
  • Continuously monitor and analyse equipment condition results from equipment inspections, condition monitoring and specialist testing
  • Develop detailed scopes of work for defects, modifications and corrective maintenance.
  • Ensure costs are minimized by constantly reviewing maintenance practices and identifying areas for improving efficiencies and productivity

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary/trade qualifications in an engineering or similar technical field with a demonstrated combination of experience in a similar Rail/LV Maintenance Planning position
  • Experience in SAP maintenance module. Including Management of SAP PM Master Data including technical objects, maintenance plans, items, task lists, BOM’s and measuring points
  • Experience in defining accurate work scopes and developing procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, Excel & Word
