  • FIFO from Perth to the Roy Hill Mine – 8/6; 4/3; 4/3; 4/3 Roster
  • Fly with Qantas with access to frequent flyer points and status credits

We are seeking an organised, service-oriented HR Officer to join our site-based People and Culture team. This role provides practical day-to-day HR support to employees, leaders and the broader HR function, helping ensure employee queries, employee movements, reporting and HR administration are managed accurately and efficiently.

Reporting to the Superintendent HR, you will act as the first point of contact for general HR queries, support employee lifecycle activities, maintain accurate records, liaise with Recruitment and People Support teams, and assist with site-based HR initiatives. You will also help coordinate employee communications, reporting and follow-up actions, while escalating complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR team member.

This role would suit someone who is approachable, proactive and confident working with employees and leaders in a busy operational environment. It is particularly suited to an individual looking to build a long-term career in Human Resources, using this opportunity to develop their HR capability, gain practical site-based experience, and work alongside a highly experienced team of HR professionals within the People and Culture function.

 

Duties

  • Act as a first point of contact for general employee and leader HR queries, providing timely support and escalating complex or sensitive matters where required
  • Support employee lifecycle activities including internal employee transactional, , offboarding administration, employee relations support and cyclical activities
  • Liaise with internal department and site leaders to help resolve employee queries and progress actions with accuracy
  • Support employees and leaders with HR systems, forms, workflows and process requirements, including policy interpretation and employee data queries
  • Maintain accurate employee records, documentation, trackers and HR files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company requirements
  • Prepare documentation and presentation for HR-related meetings, communications and site support activities to enable effective delivery of HR services
  • Support HR reporting, data checking and follow-up actions across HR systems such as SuccessFactors, or other internal systems

 

Skills and Experience

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling employee data, forms, records and confidential information
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and manage competing priorities
  • A customer-focused approach, with the confidence to follow up actions and escalate matters appropriately
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and use internal People & Culture systems
  • Demonstrated communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to build effective working relationships across site and corporate teams
  • Previous experience in HR administration, HR coordination, recruitment administration, mobilisation, employee services or high-volume site administration will be beneficial
  • Qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology, Commerce or a related discipline, or currently working towards completion, will be desirable. Candidates with an interest in pursuing further study in these areas are also encouraged to apply
