About the role:

The Technology Operations team is currently seeking a Manager Network & Communications to join them on a Monday – Friday Roster based at our West Perth office. Reporting to the Head of Technology Operations and Infrastructure you will be leading a diverse team who are responsible for providing strategic direction, development, implementation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of  IT  and OT Network, Wifi, Private LTE, and Digital Radio for Hancock Iron Ore, encompassing both Corporate and Operations (Port, Mine, ROC & Rail).

 

This role entails leading a high-performing team of engineers, architects and specialists to develop, deliver, and maintain scalable, reliable, and fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure and communication services for Hancock Iron Ore. The Manager Network & Communications is expected to possess strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills to guide and enable a multi-disciplinary team.


Duties:

  • Lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of HIO’s IT and OT network and communications environments across mine, rail, port and corporate operations
  • Maintain end-to-end accountability for critical network services including corporate and site networks, OT networks, Wi-Fi, LTE and Tetra radio communications
  • Provide visible people leadership through coaching, capability development, performance management, succession planning and fostering a high-performing team culture
  • Ensure infrastructure is designed, operated and maintained to meet business, operational, safety and cyber security requirements
  • Oversee monitoring, incident response, recovery, continuity planning and support strategies to maximise service availability and resilience
  • Manage vendors, service providers and support partners to deliver strong service performance and alignment with operational priorities
  • Drive network and communications upgrades, lifecycle planning, standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives across IT and OT environments
  • Partner closely with Operations, Technology, Cyber Security and Projects teams to support business continuity, operational readiness and major technology initiatives

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Formal qualification in business, technology, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent leadership experience in a relevant environment
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT networking, including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, wireless and network security
  • Senior Leadership experience of technology related teams in a large, complex organisation
  • Knowledge of cyber security controls relevant to network and communications infrastructure
