About the role:

Are you looking for your next opportunity in mining maintenance? Hancock Iron Ore is seeking an experienced Maintainer Drill Fitter to join our Mobile Maintenance team.

FIFO from Perth to the Roy Hill mine site, as part of our team, you will work with industry-leading equipment and autonomous drilling technology, receive ongoing training and development opportunities, and contribute to the success of one of the world’s most innovative mining operations. Reporting to the Supervisor Mobile Maintenance, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, availability, and performance of our drill fleet.

Duties:

  • Conduct inspections, servicing, repairs, and maintenance activities to maximise drill fleet reliability and performance
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults to maintain operational availability
  • Perform both planned and breakdown maintenance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship
  • Apply your technical expertise in drill maintenance to support safe, efficient, and productive operations

Equipment You’ll Be Working On:

  • Epiroc Pit Viper 271 (Autonomously operated through Flanders control system)
  • Epiroc D65

Skills and experience:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent)
  • Current Manual C Class Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining heavy mobile drill rigs, preferably within an autonomous mining environment
  • Sound understanding of autonomous drilling control systems (Flanders experience highly regarded)
  • Desirable licences and tickets: Forklift (LF), Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Crane, Dogging, and Basic Rigging
