About the role:

 

Are you a Diesel Fitter with proven Hitachi haul truck experience looking for your next step in mining maintenance? Hancock Iron Ore is seeking Maintainer Diesel Fitter to join our industry-leading Mobile Maintenance Hauling & Ancillary team.

 

This is a permanent opportunity working on a large-scale fleet, with a strong focus on Hitachi EH4000 and EH5000 haul trucks. You’ll be part of a high-performing maintenance team, supported by modern systems, structured maintenance programs, and ongoing training and development.

Reporting to the Supervisor Mobile Maintenance, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our heavy mobile equipment fleet.


Duties:

 

  • Conduct inspections, servicing, repairs, and maintenance to ensure fleet reliability and efficiency
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, ensuring maximum equipment availability
  • Perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with a strong focus on safety and quality
  • Apply your expertise in heavy mobile equipment to drive operational excellence

 

 

Skills and experience:

  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology required
  • Current manual C class driver’s licence required
  • Strong hands-on experience maintaining Hitachi EH4000/EH5000 haul trucks essential
  • Proven background in heavy mobile equipment maintenance within mining or heavy industry
  • Desirable licences: Forklift (LF), Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Crane, Dogging, and Basic Rigging
