About the role
At Hancock Iron Ore, we are committed to responsible resource development and protecting the natural environment while supporting safe, sustainable operations. We are looking for an Advisor Environment – Execution, to join our site-based environment team and help deliver strong environmental performance across our operational sites.
Reporting to the Supervisor Environment - Execution, this role supports the implementation of environmental management strategies and operational compliance with relevant legislation, approvals and company standards across site activities. Working closely with operations, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders, you will help embed environmental compliance into day-to-day activities and contribute to a culture of environmental stewardship.

Duties
- Maintain site environmental compliance through the implementation of approvals
- Conduct monitoring activities and maintain accurate records
- Undertake environmental reporting, audits and inspections
- Identify environmental risks and help drive practical improvement initiatives
- Identify environmental incidents and support incident response and corrective action follow-up
- Oversee and coordinate contractors and consultants to meet environmental obligations
- Provide accurate and purposeful advice to the operational teams in relation to environmental matters
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement both internal and external
Skills and experience
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Ecology, Geology, Natural Resource Management, or equivalent experience
- Current Australian C Class Manual Driver’s Licence
- Ability to support environmental compliance across projects and operational areas
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
Experience in mining, resources or other heavy industry environments, including FIFO or remote area exposure, will be highly regarded. Candidates with an understanding of environmental compliance, monitoring, reporting, audits, incident investigations and corrective actions, along with experience in contractor or consultant management, environmental systems, GIS or spatial tools, rehabilitation or land management, and fauna spotting in line with WA regulatory requirements, will be viewed favourably.
