Job Description: 

HanRoy is currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial and Contracts Specialist to join our Studies and Future Projects team. Reporting to the General Manager and Package Manager, you will be responsible for delivering project‑specific commercial and contract administration, ensuring the financial and contractual management meets the requirements and outcomes of the study/project.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of contracts and standards.
  • Administer all contractual notices in strict accordance with required timeframes.
  • Complete all contract administration activities accurately and efficiently, in line with industry standards, business processes, and project requirements.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on commercial risk throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Ensure the timely issuance of insurance certificates to clients and maintain ongoing insurance compliance for all subcontractors.
  • Identify, manage, and report commercial and procurement risks across the project.
  • Prepare, assess, and submit progress claims to clients and progress schedules to subcontractors, ensuring compliance with Security of Payment legislation.
  • Prepare and submit head contract variation requests, extensions of time, and delay or disruption claims in accordance with contractual requirements and timeframes.
  • Review, assess, and determine subcontract variation requests, extensions of time, and delay or disruption claims, ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Manage the commercial close‑out of assigned contracts, including final accounts, releases, waivers, and documentation of lessons learned.
  • Prepare tender documentation and procurement packs for market release, covering materials, fabrication, services, and installation scopes.
  • Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes, from scope and tender preparation and expressions of interest through to contract award, as required by the study/project.

 

 

What’s Required for this Role

  • Relevant degree or tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in finance, commercial, procurement, and contract administration within the construction, mining, oil, and gas industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse contractual and legal issues and provide solutions through appropriate problem‑solving techniques.
  • Sound commercial acumen, accompanied by proven negotiation and interpersonal skills, evidenced by effective dispute resolution.
